"ART ON THE VINE"
Debbie and Gene Stikeleather, owners of The Winery at Iron Gate Farm and hosts of the “2009 Art on the Vine” event, announce today the winner of this years wine label contest.

“In all we received eight submissions of art work from members of the Alamance Artisans in various mediums. We were looking for something that embodied the overall spirit of the event. We were blown away by the beauty, quality and thought that went into each piece of art work. The one piece that really caught our eye and seemed to capture the “festival” atmosphere of Art on the Vine was submitted by Sherry McAdams.” Sherry works primarily with acrylics and paints with great passion. Sherry’s artwork will be featured on two wines, “Vin Blanc”, a dry white, and “Vin Rouge”, a dry red, which will be offered during this two day event.

Make plans now to attend the fourth annual two-day art and wine extravaganza at the beautiful Winery at Iron Gate Farm on Lynch Store Road in the heart of the Alamance County countryside, just north of Mebane, NC, off SR 119. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 16 from 10 am until 6 pm and on Sunday, May 17 from 1 pm until 6 pm. What a perfect combination! Discover award-winning locally produced wine coupled with original art from some of the area's most talented and creative artists. The Winery at Iron Gate Farm partners with the Alamance Artisans Guild to offer fine craft, fine art, and fine wine all in one location convenient to major urban areas of North Carolina and easily accessible from Interstates 85 and 40. Treat your senses to the area’s best wine, art, and music as you revel in the Piedmont springtime. Come sample the region’s unique creativity as expressed in the works of the 40 juried artists under two large tents. Visitors will find handcrafted furniture, glass, pottery, jewelry, wood sculpture, painting, fiber arts, metal work, photography, quilting, and more. This event will also feature some of the best live music the area has to offer and gourmet food on-site. Extend your experience by taking home some of your favorite wines and art! Last year many visitors intended to come for one day but couldn’t resist returning on Sunday to enjoy blooming vines, rolling landscape, and some slow time in a fast world. Don't miss this unique treat for the eye, ear, and palate!
